Being Nappy Headed

I undid my braids so I am walking around with my thick naps, proudly may I add. However, I seem to be offending a lot of people by wearing my hair in its natural state. I am honestly so tired of people asking me when I am going to do my hair!!😑

#1 It’s none of your business what I do with my hair,or when.

#2 What does ‘doing’ my hair entail? Straightening it or weaving it out? Why is that more acceptable than my plain hair?

#3 Will you give me the money to ‘do’ my hair to make it less harsh on your eyes?

I love all the different things we can do to our hair but I absolutely cannot stand people who want to tell me that anything else is better than my God given coils. You  would think, off the bat, that I am referring to people of another race but sadly its black people who take offence at my hair being ‘undone’ yet they should appreciate it above everybody else. In my community most black people still think its kind of inferior or closer to poor-man status to have your hair raw. I personally wish we could all get with the program already.

And just to apply this principle in life and not just on hair decisions… people are allowed to choose what makes them happy, whether it’s driving a pink car, being vegan or wearing their natural hair, it’s perfectly fine!!! As long as it does not hurt the next person.

Now…As you were…
